Historical Outbreaks

Hepatitis A (September 2025)

Cases of hepatitis A were reported in multiple regions of Sweden. Imported berries were considered the likely cause.

Acute hepatitis of unknown etiology (April 2022)

Cases of hepatitis with unknown etiology were reported in children in multiple counties in early 2022.

Listeria (September  2025)

Multiple listeria infections were detected in September 2025.

mpox (2024-2025)

Mpox, formerly Monkeypox, is a zoonotic disease caused by the mpox virus.

SARS-CoV-2

SARS-CoV-2 became capable of human-human transmission in late 2019. It led to a pandemic that significantly impacted global society.
